Description:FTB is the dynamic and highly profitable specialist financial publishing division of the FT Group. Currently produces upwards of 17 print titles, has a number of highly regarded commercial websites and a market leading events division. The financial controller is responsible for all aspects of the financial and management accounts and in this exciting role will be expected to develop both the people and the systems to support the financial requirements of FTB’s strategy.
Keytasks:Managing and developing the financial & management accounting team (3 members);

Ensuring the relevance and accuracy of FTB’s financial information;

Managing FTB’s relationship with Group service centres;

Preparing the Company’s statutory accounts & liaising with external & internal auditors;

Overseeing the month-end & year-end reporting process, submitting results to Group via the PRIME reporting system;

Maintaining a rigorous and robust control environment;

Budgeting and planning for central cost centres as well as preparing balance sheet & cashflow projections;

Liaising with the FT’s tax specialist and assisting with the preparation of the company’s tax return;

Performing other ad hoc tasks;

To be a key member of the Finance management team
Essential skills:A qualified accountant (3 yrs+ PQE) with good communication and analytical skills plus a strong personality.
Preferred skills:Prior people management skills would be an advantage, a desire coach and develop a team however is essential.
