| Description: | Financial Times is looking for a well-organised and self-sufficient sub-editor to work across a number of pensions and investment magazines and websites. | Keytasks: | Reporting to the Production Editor, the key responsibilities of this role are: Subbing, headlining and layout for news and features pages, ensuring copy adheres to house style Sourcing photos and images to attract the reader and complement the feature Creating charts and graphs to accompany news, features and comment pieces Liaison with editorial teams to ensure copy deadlines are met Creating PDFs and sending them to the printers as per press deadlines Daily subbing of news stories for www.pensionsnews.com |
| Essential skills: | Impeccable subbing/proofreading skills including high level of proficiency in Quark Xpress (layout experience preferable) Strong Photoshop skills – should be using on a regular basis Attention to detail Creative and innovative use of the English language Ability to absorb and interpret financial subject matter in short periods of time Experience of working to tight deadlines and ability to work well under pressure |
| Preferred skills: | Good working knowledge of Illustrator Professional journalism qualification Experience or knowledge of the financial services industry or fund management |
