Event overview

PWM magazine presents the seventh annual private banking summit, examining how the portfolio management processes of wealth management groups are continuing to evolve through an era of heightened volatility.

Leading the debate will be chief executives and heads of investment from European and global institutions, who will examine how fast-changing business models can accommodate new approaches to investment and asset allocation.

The one-bank approach of ‘investment banking for private clients’ will be contrasted with a more independent, discretionary approach to portfolio management, and a variety of diversification opportunities and asset classes discussed, with an emphasis on client communication.

A comparison of business models and scrutiny of the regulatory and economic pressures affecting Swiss banking will be aimed at highlighting new and more efficient avenues for client acquisition.

Among the investment themes highlighted by the summit will be US real estate and recovery-led plays, high dividend-paying stocks, energy-led investments and exporters to emerging markets. A focus on alternative investing will include allocations between developed and developing markets, co-investing opportunities for family offices and identifying a new generation of asset manager after the latest course of operational and regulatory hurdles.
