Accessibility and access keys

Designed using web standards and built with accessibility in mind

This website has been designed and built with modern, web-standards technologies. Using XHTML and CSS means that the site is built to last well into the future as well as making the content available to older browsers and other alternative devices such as screen-readers for people with visual disabilities.

We have tried our best to make this site usable by as many people as possible. Whilst we know that it's impossible to design a site that everyone can use, constructing this site with accessibility in mind means that more people can access the content. The FT Business site meets accessibility guidelines set by the WAI and the RNIB.

We are in the process of reviewing how our other websites meet these guidelines. For more information or to give feedback on the design and accessibility of any of our websites, please contact our Head of Content Management, Charl Porter: charl.porter@ft.com

Compatible with a wide range of browsers

The site has been designed to work in all modern web browsers and has been fully tested using:

  • Internet Explorer 6 for Windows
  • Internet Explorer 5 for Windows
  • Mozilla Firefox for Windows
  • Netscape 7 for Windows
  • Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh
  • Mozilla Firefox for Macintosh
  • Safari for Macintosh

Best visual presentation is achieved in the newer versions of popular graphical web browsers but the site has also been tested using text browsers and screen readers including Lynx and JAWS. If you have any comments or encounter any problems using the site please contact us.
